Sustaining the platform's dynamic growth and managing an expanding user base while simultaneously eliminating critical risks associated with outdated technology and resolving an inconsistent User Experience (UX).
Operating in the employee benefits management market for large enterprises, Nais was experiencing rapid growth in interest from employers and partners. The strategy involved dynamic expansion, but the existing technology architecture, based on the obsolete AngularJS framework, posed a serious security and stability risk, threatening to slow down the development cycle. Furthermore, the inconsistent UX, which relied on off-the-shelf components, could not effectively support the growing user base, demanding urgent modernization within a timeframe that allowed for the rapid introduction of new features.
We began with a comprehensive audit of the existing architecture. Our approach was based on two pillars: future-proofing the technology and enhancing the user experience.
Future-Proof Migration: A team of five dedicated Develocraft developers performed a smooth, modular migration of the entire platform from AngularJS to the modern and widely supported React framework, minimizing the risk of downtime and security issues.
Unified UX: We completely redesigned the interface, implementing a custom component library and design language (Design System). This achieved visual consistency, better performance, and accelerated the implementation of new functionalities.
Mobile Access: Based on user testing insights, we developed two dedicated mobile applications (for employees and partners) using React Native, enabling "on-the-go" access and expanding the ability to utilize benefits at physical partner locations.
In the period from the start of the partnership in 2017 to the end of 2019, the technological investments delivered measurable business outcomes:
Employer spending on the platform increased eightfold.
The number of users multiplied twentyfold.
The implementation of the Design System led to a unified, intuitive UX and a significantly faster cycle for introducing new features.
The tech migration and the introduction of mobile apps (iOS and Android) guaranteed stability, reliability, and extended the platform's reach beyond the web browser.
