The Design System That Fueled Growth: How We Streamlined Dryg’s UX and Accelerated Product Development

Streamlining chaotic UX/UI and an inefficient design process to prepare the rapidly growing platform for efficient product scaling

The Challenge

As a fast-evolving product in its early growth stage, Dryg faced challenges due to inconsistent design and inefficient user flows, caused by rapid changes. Development and design teams wasted time managing scattered design files and non-uniform UI components. From the user perspective, the platform struggled with unclear paths (for employers and candidates), low interface contrast, and errors in handling edge cases, which led to a high bounce rate and a low mobile app rating (3.6). The business objective was product consolidation and optimization within an 8-month timeframe to enable massive and efficient scaling.

The Solution

Develocraft began the partnership with an in-depth UX Audit and a detailed review of design files (Figma), identifying key architectural and process inefficiencies. Subsequently, a Scalable and Optimized Design System was implemented through:

  1. Introducing a 4px spacing system and standardizing naming conventions for styles and components.
  2. Consolidating all design elements (style guide, components, wireframes) into one collaborative file, which improved team communication.
  3. Unifying UI components to create a shared library for web, iOS, and Android applications, reducing management and development costs.

Concurrently, Key UX Improvements were carried out:

  • Clear distinction and optimization of paths for job seekers versus employers (ATS).
  • Improvement of the job listing system (introducing infinite scroll and saving the user's position/filters upon returning from an offer).
  • Enlarging interaction/click areas (accessibility) and removing redundant steps in key user flows, decreasing cognitive load.
  • Covering edge cases, eliminating dead ends and illogical redirects.

The Results

  • Mobile app rating increased by 4.5 from 3.6 in just 3 months.
  • 3% acceleration of the design creation process.
  • 2% reduction in the number of UI components, simplifying the system.
  • Significant improvement in delivery quality and streamlining of the workflow (Design Ops) between design and development teams.
  • Increase in key KPIs, including the number of job applications per user.
  • Complete elimination of user complaints related to usability and poor UX.
